I had this vision just not long ago. It had something to do with what happened to me a number of years back.
I had a dream...that I was wandering around in this great forest. Nothing but trees as far as the eye can see.
And I heard a voice through the trees. I couldn't make out what it said.
But I felt at peace with the world in that moment.
I was five years old.
I understood everything. It was all clear to me - in that moment.
But that child is gone now.
All that's left is this muddle - this weird "soup" of incoherence that makes up the days.
I wonder what happened to that kid - the one with the dreams.
I don't remember him leaving.
But sometimes we must leave the past...behind us.

The past may be behind us now, but the energy and wonder of youth should be nurtured well into our advanced years. Art may be one of the best ways to keep the image of that young child alive in your mind. Finger paints, Silly Putty, Crayolas, Mud ... they were fun then. But now we have pc's and digital programs to help our imaginations along. Keep that wonderful thought of understanding everything in the back of your mind. And keep exploring and finding out what's around the next bend in the road and what magic you can produce with the technology available now. But for Heaven's Sake ... have fun. It's the only contagious thing we all want to share.
